This is ME!
My name is Joanne Kakoyiannis. I am 74 years old and happily married to my husband Peter of 53 years. I’m blessed with three children and two wonderful grandchildren. I learned in December of 2023 that my kidneys are severely damaged.
I need a kidney from a living donor to save my life.
This is what I am hoping and praying for, and why I am reaching out to my family, friends, communities, and the caring public with my story.
A new kidney means a chance to pour more of myself into my family, communities, and causes I believe in.
With your help I will see my young grandchildren grow into teenagers. I can continue to assist my daughter and her husband in the care of their special needs child. I will be there for my 93 year old aunt who looks to me for care and support. I can continue being a contributor to my church and local communities. I love life, and with the support of a kidney donor, can continue to be in it with all of you.
Throughout my illness, my family and friends have given me the utmost support, for which I am so thankful. But now I hope that a miracle will happen and a living kidney donor will come forward to help me continue in this wonderful life.
